

The Marketing Maverick
Hi, I’m Cyrina Yarbrough. I’m a marketing and communications executive with a career built around helping organizations grow by thinking differently, moving strategically, and challenging the idea that “the way it’s always been done” is the way forward.
Over the past two decades, I’ve led brand, marketing, communications, and audience growth strategy across nonprofit, arts and entertainment, commercial real estate, hospitality, retail, travel, and consumer brands. My work sits at the intersection of strategy, operations, reputation, and modern audience engagement.
Throughout my career, I’ve often been brought into organizations during moments of growth, reinvention, or transition. I’ve built integrated marketing strategies, strengthened cross-functional alignment, and created systems that help teams operate with greater clarity, agility, and impact. I’m especially drawn to environments that require both creativity and operational discipline, where big ideas only matter if they can actually move an organization forward.
More recently, my work has focused on how AI is reshaping marketing, communications, and organizational workflows. I’m particularly interested in the relationship between AI, discoverability, institutional trust, audience behavior, and the future of work. My focus leans heavily toward understanding how leaders can embrace emerging technologies while still preserving the human judgment, collaboration, and relationship-building that strong organizations depend on.
The “maverick” mindset has never been about disruption for attention. It’s about curiosity, adaptability, and having the confidence to challenge outdated thinking in pursuit of stronger outcomes, smarter systems, and more meaningful audience connection.
